-----Question-----
Could you tell me what would cause my purple mushrooms to become unattached to my live rock? It is not too much current. they have been growing well in my well established tank.
-----Answer-----
Ron,

The main cause would be your current is too strong or you may have insufficient lighting.  One another issue is they may be stressed but you mentioned they are growing well in your tank.  Please check your nitrate levels as well.  I have read this happens when someone does not have enough lighting or the light schedule is not enough.  Again  you said that they have been growing so I am a bit of a loss.
I looked through some of my texts and they said=slow down the current until they re-attach or re-attach by hand and then slowly increase the current daily until they are steadfast to the live rock.

Sorry I could not be of more help

Answer

Ron,
Your nitrates are not too high ( they are in the acceptable range.) The goal is also little or no nitrates under 10 in my experience is perfect most texts say under 20 ppm.
But you can lower them a bit
by performing a small water change about 10% each week for two weeks maybe three.   Gently place them back on the live rock.  Do this with the utmost care you can use your hands to do this.

Good luck
Todd
