Angel fish

Question
Hello, I recently bought a 55 gallon tank and I want to put dwarf angels in it. I was wondering if it is possible to keep 1 each of a coral beauty angel, a flame angel, a half-black angel, a yellow or herald's angel, and a bicolor angel together. If I can't keep all of them together, which ones would work the best with the flame angel? Also, can I keep anemones with angelfish or will they nibble on the anemone?

Answer
Hello Grace,

I would like to say yes to your combination but unfortunately some of them will and wont work together...

As a general rule, and yes there actually a good amount of exceptions, those fish tend to not like similar shapes.

THAT IS

Fish that have the same shape dont get along...

Anemones should be fine, as will a couple other fish as well... in case you want a nemo for your anem?  heheheheh

Please look at www.liveaquaria.com  as they have a good chart for mix and match of species...

but keep in mind that the chart like all information has exceptions

also, please join my new forum at www.thelittleocean.com

WE have a good discussion forum and folks from all over with all kinds of experience and some with none...  but so far the forum has been drama free and lots of people are choosing to stick around for some reason.

I would love to have a discussion of mix and match especially with the fish you listed...

BTW:  Im thinking that you might be putting too many fish  into a smaller tank, unless I am misunderstanding which and how many fish you are planning...

but, again, Im not real sure but would love to discuss this as I might set a fo tank in the near future...  (Im moving, and I may not go with full reef on the next setup...

I do love angels and anemones, which is why I would like to get more information for myself... hehehe

that, or i can write me a message here... :)

good luck and hope to hear from you again
