could i keep a breeding pair of blue acara in a 25gal tank?
even when ther full size?

I will address this like I do the question about small tanks and bettas.
If you were put into a closet, and the closet was kept clean, and you had food and water, and everything you needed, you could live, you might even be healthy.  But would you be happy?
You just have to think of their size and their needs, and yes each fish is different.
