Question
hi. i just got a new loach and i can't figure out what kind it is...the petstore guy called it a spotted loach but it doesn't look like the pictures i've found....i looks just like a kuhli loach only it is tan colored with brown spots...sandy looking... also bigger a bit. how long do loaches usually live? and finally, if i add a new angel to my tank, will the larger angel harm it?  one is an inch or less, the other about 6 or 7.  thank you so much, krissy

Answer
HiYa!

The average lifespan of the loach family of fish is 10 years, though it does vary fish to fish, some live longer, some live shorter, depends on varying things such as condition of water, food fed etc etc, if you are after rough lifespan of a specific loach, my advice, Google it and you should be able to find out.

As for your Angelfish, they are very territorial and nasty fish when they want to be and it may be risky putting in another Angel that is considerably smaller than the original especially as the bigger one has already got territory in the tank. I wouldn't do it personally but if you do go ahead and do it anyway....rearrange your tank first so that new territory must be sorted out by both fish.

Hope this helps...

Cheers!
