African Cichlids Lake Malawi Mubas?

Question
I have 2 malawi cichlids that I was given. I was wondering if haveing 3 females and 1 male in a 29-30 gallon tank would work provided it has great filtration I have an aqua clear 110 that does 500 gallons per hour and weekly water changes of 50% or more. as well as proper rocks and caves.
Im not totally sure what I have now.
I have been told two differnt things on what both of them are so they are either
1 male  Melanochromis johannii  or a melanochromis maingano, the maingano I can not find any info on other then from what that person told me that she did a lot of research and found that they are miss labeled as each other and the other one I have is a female  L. trewavasae. they are bout 4 inches give or take.
I was just trying to find a way to keep them as they are my daughters fav. fish and having them in the 55 gallon they dont come out and my husband wants to add more but to get them that size and for how many I need to over stock the tank is very expensive. I was thinking a smaller tank with wiht just the 1 male and 3-4 females in a 30 would work. Also what type of females would work with.

Answer
Hi Michelle,
A 30 gallon would be fine with good filtration and water changes.
1 male and 3 or 4 females would be perfect.
Since you don't know exactly what kind of cichlids they are, the best females to get would be the electric yellow labs.
Did I answer everything for you?
