Betta (dad) and fry (kids)

I would like to figure out when the male Betta should come out of the tank. after the fry have hatched. he is really busy catching them and putting them back into the nest that he's getting tired. i don't know if the fry can have liquid food yet or any type of food. I want to be able to give away bettas to my friends but i need to keep them alive.
