Danios eating Algae chip

Question
I have a 16 gallon tank with 8 danios,2 Rasboras and a flying fox (sucker).  I have feed the other fish first then dropped in an algae chip for the sucker.  All the other fish in the tank attack the algae chip.  Is this OK?  Their bellies swell as I think they are overeating.  Is this normal or ok for the other fish?

Answer
Hi Ana,
It is ok.  Just remember to not put too much food if you are afraid the flying fox is not getting enough.  They eventually learn to eat flakes and pellets too.  Keep in mind that the flying fox are commonly mislabeled.  If yours is the Chinese Algae Eater (fying fox), then it will grow to be an aggressive fish after it is out of its algae eating stage.  If it is a Saimese Algae Eater, then you have nothing to worry about as these fish are extremely peaceful.  Both of the fish look ALOT alike, there are pages on google explaining the differences between the 2 fish.
