pop-eye infection

Question
I have a black moor goldfish and he's got pop-eye infection. I looked at the other answers you have to other people but i don't have any money. Will it be ok if i just leave it alone or no?

Answer
Popeye can be cured with a vigorous water change schedule and a varied diet.

I'd do daily 50% water changes on the tank until the goldfish is hopefully cured. I cannot guarantee that the fish doesn't require medication but its common for popeye cases to stem from poor water quality and therefore water changes are the key to fixing.

Keep in mind some black moor goldfish naturally have one eye larger than the other and its simply genetics. But if you didn't buy your goldfish that way then its likely popeye.

Leaving popeye cases may cause the infection to heal on its own...or the fish may loose an eye unfortunately. Its difficult to say.

Best of luck and I hope all goes well.
