natural black gravel

Question
Is there a black substrate that is coarse enough to not be
black sand in my 10 gallon tank?  I want to purchase a couple
live plants and 3 feeder gold fish.  I don't like the painted
rock they have for the gravel.  I need some direction!

Hi Carolyn,
There is a black substrate specifically for planted tanks called Eco-Complete, or Flourite.  Both come in a variety of colors but both of these substrates have a black version.  Eco-Complete can be found cheap at Petco.com.  They are sold in stores in some areas, but in my area it is only sold in 1 out of 6 Petcos.  Other fish specialty stores sell 20lb Eco for $30+.  Petco sells it only for $19.99.  Online also has an Eco Sale for $15.99.  

I have used Eco-Complete with very great results.
