moving a tank with fish

Question
Hi, I read your profile and it says under experience that you know how to do this so tomorrow I'm going to be putting together a dresser that my fish are going to have to go on because it's going where my tank is now. The tank is a 10 Gallon with 5 Tiger Barbs and 3 Kuhli Loaches, should I just remove half of the water so that the bottom of the tank wouldn't brake and just lift it? Or how should I do it?
Thanks!

And another question:

I was wondering if I could get 8 Tiger Barbs and 5 Kuhli Loaches instead of 5 and 3 and maybe later on add 1 Dwarf Gourami( are they compatible with the Tiger Barbs? Should I not get one? ), I have a Tetra Whisper Power Filter and the box says it has a Bio-Bag that is supposed to remove ammonia and nitrites and the size of the filter is for 5-10 Gallon aquariums. Is that ok for 8 Tiger Barbs and 5 Kuhli Loaches? Or should I still stick with the 6 Tiger Barbs and the 4 Kuhli Loaches?( 1 Kuhli Loach and 1 Tiger Barb died last night, that's why I said 5 and 3 but I'm going to get one more of each to replace them. )
Thanks again!

Garret, you read my other 2 responses to your questions?
Take a great look at what you really want in an aquarium. As I suggested before you should have a bigger tank. A 30 at least.
Anyway, since you're just moving it through the house it should be fine to remove 7 gallons of the water and carry it. The fish should be ok in 3 gallons for 10 minutes. To be safe I'd get a bucket and scopp the fish in that.
