29 Gallon Stocking Advice

Question
I have a 29 gallon tall bowfront that I set-up in September, and have slowly been adding fish to.  The tank is heavily planted, and includes bogwood and a number of caves.

The tank is probably getting close to fully stocked, but I'd like to get your opinion on how close I am to that point.

Currently I have the following fish:
- 6 Corys
- 4 Zebra Danios
- 3 Otos
- 2 Blue Rams

Could I get away with 7-10 tetras (neons or blood fins or clown)without putting too much stress on the tank.

If the school of tetras is not the best addition, any advice on another colorful South American top- or mid-dweller would be great.

I appreciate your help and guidance.

Answer
Hi John:  I would say that your bottom level is almost over stocked... you will need to supplement their diet with sinking algae wafers.  The remaining fish are all mid-level fish but the problem comes in the fact that the tank is tall and not wide... If it were my tank I would add two more fish to that space and maybe one to three top level fish like the hatchet fish but that is all... if you decide to add more mid-level fish... the rams ... though peaceful may start to eat the other fish... they are relatives of the cichlids after all.  My overall choice would be 4-5 hatchet fish and no mid level fish at all.   hope this helps...dave
