electric eel?

Question
Hi! I have a somewhat freaky problem...

so this friend of mine has this Brazilian electric eel as a pet and he's out on vacation, so he asked me to stay and take care of it. The problem is, when we were moving the eel's tank it broke and we had to release it in a pond near home. I think it is too cold for the eel to survive there (I live near Chicago), but we are all scared of going into the water and catch the thing, I've read they can kill a man. But it will freeze to death if we leave it there. What can I do?

I hope u can help, thanks!

Answer
The best thing you can do is set up a new tank and catch it. Doing your best not to touch it. Catching it in some way or even if you have to call some one to do it for you is the only way to solve the problem unless you can find a pond heater. I hope this helps.
