water snails

QUESTION: my fresh water snail has had babies. She is now laying egg clusters all over the tank, (on the rocks and plants). I only have a small tank and cannot take on anymore snails. how do i prevent her from laying more eggs? (there is not a male in the tank with her)

Really you cant. The only way is to take her out of the tank. But she well continue to keep laying eggs as long as she is healthy and in the tank!! sorry. If you have any more questions please send me a follow up.

QUESTION: thanks! I have one question, will the eggs hatch with out a male snail? and will my snail die if i take it out of the tank? this snail has already had 5 babies. The pet store did not tell me I was to become a snail breeder....

Hello again,

And male or female it well lay hundreds of eggs a month and after a while a good number of them well hatch. They multiply easy and are hard to get rid of. You can use had a snail safely with your fish or add alittle bit of aquarium salt helps slow them down or get rid of them.
