Small freshwater fish for shrimp tank?

Question
Hi!  I have had fish for 7-8 years now and I recently purchased 10 small bright yellow shrimp.  They range from ~1/4 to 1/2 of an inch long and I'd really like to add some really tiny freshwater fish to the tank (its a 5gallon).  I was wondering if you could recommend any little fishes that wouldn't eat my shrimp!  The only thing that I could really think of was Croaking Gouramis or White Cloud Mountain Minnows, both of which I have kept in small tanks, but I didn't know if they would eat the shrimp. If you know of any other small fish (preferably not guppies), that wouldn't eat my shrimp that would be great!

Answer
Hi Lauren,

The Mountain Minnows, like you suggested, would work fine.
Remember, since you have a small tank, the amount of fish that you could keep in it would be 3, or 5, if you have good filtration (50+ gallons per hour). Shrimp don't produce much waste, so they don't really count when stocking an aquarium.

Here's some other suggestions:

Zebra Danios (Technically, they should be kept in a school, but they do
             fine in small groups)
Platy (Only males, females will breed crazily, and males have more color
Betta (Only one male, or two females)
Corydoras Catfish (3 max)

Good Luck, and happy fishkeeping!
