Continuation of diseased fish

Question
The system wouldn't let me ask another follow up...it said to post a new question. You asked me what I have left in fish. I have one small tiger barb left. I took out the decorations and boiled them. I have not put them back in the tank yet. I have not been able to vacuum all the gravel yet either but I am gradually working on different sections with each water change. I'm changing a gallon of water a day. (10 gal tank) The temp is 78 degrees. Could the warmer water have killed my fish? I had it up to 86 like you suggested when my old one died-I had him for two years and he was used to cooler water- 70-72. Any more pearls you may have for me would be appreciated.

Answer
The warmer water may have been an  issue... but its not normally deadly for fish... the gravel sounds more like the case... that is where toxins would build up..... Tropical fish like water between 78 and up to 90 degrees depending on species.  I would just clean that gravel like crazy... keep me posted...dave
