Question
QUESTION: First question: I have a black moor who was healthy looking this morning but when I came home around 6 noticed that his right fin is turning white and slowly disappearing (falling apart). I want to make him better so any advice would be great.

Second question: We got 2 tetra as well a week ago and I swore to my boyfriend that one looked pregnant. He laughed at me and today I finally got to laugh back when I found one small baby swimming around and soon found 4 more. I have caught them and separated them within the tank and I was just wondering what to feed them as well as any other additional care I need to do for them. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks so much!

ANSWER: Hello. It sounds like your poor black moor has fin rot. I have not had experience with this but I do know you should act quickly. Put her in her own hospital tank. As for medication I am unsure. You can try a product call Maracyn or Maracyn TC.

This is so cute! I don't have much experience with baby fish but i do know you want to keep the water clean and keep them seperated from the mother because she will eat them. I have no idea what they eat which is probably just normal fish food but in a small amount. Please feel free to ask the other experts any questions i could not answer.

QUESTION: Thank you very much. I want to get the hospital tank ready but I just wondered who I should go about that. All new water or some of the old water as well as some Aquasafe to make sure my water is ok for him. I don't have anything to keep the temperature at around 78 which is what he is supposed to be kept at. Will this only take a day or 2 or how long does it usually take to cure? I chose the little man because he was all by himself and I've always liked the "loner" types, ha-ha. Any advice again is appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Take some of the original tank water and put it in the hospital tank along with some new water and aqua safe. This will be much longer then just 2 days.it will depend on how stressed out the treatment will make him and how well the treatment works. your fish will be fine without a temperature regulator.
