silver tipped sharks

Question
How do you know if the shark is pregnant?  We have two silver tipped sharks and do not know the sex, but one of the two has a very large belly.  If it is pregnant, what do I do?  Are they livebearing fish?  I have other fish in the 30 gal tank (Bala sharks 2,and 1 pitcus catfish)

Hi Cindy:  If the shark is pooping and eating and still remaining very large then she may be carrying eggs.  As far as I can determine they have not been bred successfully in the aquarium.  They are mouth brooders and the male will hold the eggs in his mouth until they hatch....They are not live bearers.  If she is not pooping or eating then let me know... dave
