Question
How may weeks would you keep the fry separate from the older fish?  I have about 12 swordtail fry that are about two weeks old, and I'm guessing about 20 guppies. Some are about a week, and some about two weeks.

Answer
hey Debbie,
normally if a litter of fry is six weeks older than another one, I keep them separate. Once fry are too much bigger than other fry, they start to bully the smaller ones. The ages all of your litters are should be fine together, and unless you see bullying start they should be ok.
Once they start getting older and new litters are born then you will need to start separating them, other wise the older fry start constantly chasing and tormenting the younger ones, and also younger ones tend to get less food because the older ones eat faster and more. Alot of the younger ones end up dieing from either stress, lack of food or they get a fatal injury from being beaten up so much.

just watch sizes and make sure some arent too much bigger than others and watch for bullying.
Good luck raising your fry!! I hope they grow up happy and healthy!
Best wishes, Chelsey
