Oversize Pacus

Question
Chris, I need your help. A friend of mine has a pacu that has outgrown its tank.  The fish can barely turn around  (he's near 24") It is heartbreaking but the owner can not find a new home for his fish and doesn't have room for a bigger tank.  The aquariums and zoos in the New York City area say they receive 2-3 calls a week from desperate Pacu owners with the same dilemna. ANY IDEAS?

Hi Frank;

I wish had some encouraging words for you but as you know, there are just too many of these poor beauties out there. Just to save his life you may have to venture outside NY state. This may mean shipping him somewhere by plane. You can utilize online auction sites as well. There is of course ebay.com but also aquabid.com that deals exclusively in aquariums, plants, fish and supplies.

I wish you the best of luck and hope for a long happy life in a giant aquarium for the fish.....
