Question
hey Ron,

i sent u an e-mail today about my male Beta Lychee, but first before i go on i've got to tell u that u are my favourite expert :).

Today when i was watching Lychee he started stretching his face, almost yawning and he's been doing it quit frequently, what does this mean?

Also, i was wondering if u could give me some tips on changing my beta's diet for a variety, what is it about giving them peas?

Thankyou so much!

Hayley

Answer
Hi Hayley,
Thank you for the kind words.

Hmmm... too much of anything is a bit puzzling.  Does he do this up near the surface?

You can try a few peas.  The key is to not let any uneaten food sit in the tank and rot.  That would be very bad.  Personally, I am not a fanatic about giving my fish a variety of food. Most of them get TetraCichlid flake food every day and they do very well on it, because good flake food is itself composed of a variety of many things.
It certainly won't hurt him to eat some peas.
