my catfish/pleco/and betta

Question
I have just been told that my  2 1/2 gallon tank is too small for my three little fish.  But I love them!  I have a corydora catfish, a pleco, and a male betta.  The dummies at the pet store suggested these would do well together.  I didn't know my little catfish wanted to be with others like him.  I'm very sad for him now.  If I were to get rid of my pleco, could I get another cory and keep those 3 together??  Or do I need to seperate all of them?  My pleco spend his ENTIRE day stuck to the bottom of the filter so I could part with him a little easier than my silly catfish.  What do you suggest I do??

Answer
Hello Marie,
The tank size is what im worried about. Bettas can be VERY VERY aggressive when it comes to territory and they can get mad as they get older and there companions get in the way too much. So, i would suggest getting a 5 gallon tank which would be ideal for them all. Or you could part with yout pleco, and keep the catfish and betta, which would do fine in the 3 1/2 gallon together forever. Im glad to see that your conserned about your fish!!! HAPPY FISH KEEPING!!
Hope This Helps
