cat fish sick?

hi.
this is my first time to have even a fish tank, 5 gallons....
i think my cat fish is sick because he was lying down at the bottom, usually he is really activ all the time...
when i was fitting him, he was eating, but than i saw that he lost some of his "body", its lock like the other fish bit him.
i think he is sick, all the other fish are fine...
do i feed them to less?, because he is always hungry.
please help

It's really hard for me to know what's wrong without more information.

What kind of catfish is he? (or describe his color, shape, markings, etc.)
Does it look like his belly is sunken or "pinched" in?
Can you get a picture of the fish and send it as an attachment to your followup question?
How many fish do you have?
How big are they?
What kinds of fish?
How long has the tank been set up?
What kind if filter?
What kind of food?
How long does it take your fish eat all the food after you put some in? (how many minutes)
What is the water temperature?
