skin/gill flukes

we have a fish that is 25years old, my husband has had it since he was eight, we got it a new tank and put some weed in it, and just lately the fish has been scratching itself and it has little parasites on it, how do i get rid of the parasites?

If the parasites look like tiny white salt-like specks, he has ick. There are remedies available at your local fish store for it. He might also be experiencing the effects of "New Tank Syndrome." A 25% water change may be needed every couple of days until it's over. Being under stress from the NTS can actually cause a case of ick. I hope he feels better soon......
