breading swordtail fish

i have one male & female swordtail fish and one sucker fish in a 10 gallon tank. do i need to separate the baby fish when they are born? will one of the other fish try to eat the baby?    thank you for your time.    Aaron

Hi,
Yes, the parents and other fish will attempt to eat the fry (babies), so you should definitely put them into a breeding net/box as soon as they are born. Feed them liquifry, baby brine shrimp and crushed flake food. You can put them back into the tank when they are 2cm long.
Most 'sucker' fish are not suitable for a 10 Gallon tank. What type is it?
