Question
QUESTION: I purchased a male dalmatian molly to mate with my female marble molly. They seemed to be getting along until I found her hiding in the castle. She waited until he went away then came out. She has a spot on her side that looks like a bite. When he came back around, he went right for that spot on her. I think he's been bitting her!
I have since placed him in another tank. She seems to be happier without him. But, how do I treat her wound? She is in a 55 gal. tank with about 10 other fish.

ANSWER: Jessica,          You need to out number him with females.Maybe one or two more. Hopefully if if you do that you can reintroduce him to the tank. I hope this hasn't found you too late. She should heal ok. If she don't add a mild antibiotic melafix. No carbon 25% water change after a week and new carbon . Good Luck, Tina

QUESTION: She died...weeks ago!

Answer
Jessica,          I am sorry no one got back to you soon enough. I just happened to be checking out a question pool and your question was there. I don't know if you didn't direct it toward someone or they put it there. I am sooo sorry for your loss. Just try to keep one or two more females than males and hopefully this won't happen again. Tina
