Need Information about Flowerhorn

Flowerhorn   Dear Sir,

Iam Prakash from India, I recently got a Flowerhorn from Bangkok, Please find the attached PIC, Howz it looking ?

Please help me by suggesting what type /breed of flowerhorn is this (as i heard several names like King Kamfa, Golden Monkey, Kamfa, Kamfamalau... etc).

Also please suggest me a good food to feed it, In the online fourms i seen that steroids/harmones are mixed in most of the flowerhorn foods.

I don't need my flowerhorn to grow over night... I want it to be healthy and look beautiful..

Hello Prakash, I love these fish. This is not natural breed of fish this is a man made hybrid. They are just beautiful. Your's is still young and they do breed between them. Yours looks like a monkey with all the red but you will get a better idea as it grows. His nuchel hump is big. They are very hardy and like all cichlid's they need a good pellet diet. You can also add small pieces of beef heart, and shrimp. Meaty food's are good for them they are almost impossible to overfeed because if they have the room they are an extremely active fish. Rule of thumb is feed 2 to 3 times a day. Careful they can try to train you.....lol Yes they do have foods for them that are made to make the hump grow faster and they do have steroids. No Good. You have a beauty and it is not necessary. It will grow rapidly with room and love., Good Luck, Tina
