mbuna cichlids

Question
how many mbuna cichlids can i keep in a 20g tank?
is it better to keep one or two? or overstock?

Hi Nat,
 The answer depends on which kind of mbuna.  If you have one of the smaller species, such as some of the Cynotilapia, you might be able to keep a single male and four females.  If it is a larger species like Metriaclima zebra, I wouldn't put more than one in there.  If you do put more than one, do NOT put more than one male. One will kill the other pretty quickly.
