why is my fish dying

i wanna know why all of a sudden my goldfish has like black dark spots on top of is head and under his eyes alil. i think he is gunna die but i dnt want him too. ive had him for three years and 9 months can you help...????

Hi Bibiana,
 It is possible that he is getting old.  Has anything else changed with his environment?   Are there other fish in the tank with him?
