Im worried

Hi im Jenny and I have a question. My fighter fish looks like its Gills are coming out is that normal.This fighter fish is a male and this one is about my 4th fighter fish I ever had but they were never like that.
I'm Worried about poor old Rainbow HELP!

Hi Jenny.  You need to tell me what you mean by "his gills are coming out".  Do you mean his scales are sticking out? Is he bloated?  Tell me what you can please.  What kind of bowl do you have him in and how frequently do you change his water?
