QuestionHi Chris! I am going out of town for 8 days and am worried about my beta, is there anything that I can buy that will feed him while I'm gone? Any ideas?
I appreciate anything you can tell me!
thanks
Alisha
AnswerHi Alisha;
He would probably be just fine for 8 days with no food at all. Healthy fish can easily go a week without food. It would be better though to see if someone could come and feed him for you, or maybe he could visit a friend while you are gone? Some fish stores will do it for a small daily fee too.
Whatever you do, please avoid those vacation feeder blocks, sticks, etc. I have heard too many horror stories after people use them in betta tanks. If the fish doesn't eat it, the chunk will rot and you come home to a dead fish. Even if he does eat it, it's just too much organic waste for such a small space.
Have a good trip and I hope it all works out for Mr. Betta...
