Bulging eyes in new bloodfin tetra

We added one new bloodfin tetra to our tank 3 days ago.  Instead of schooling with our 2 bloodfins, it hid behind a plant.  It is not eating.  Now it has bulging eyes.  Our water temperature, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels are where they should be and our other fish are thriving (getting a little chubby!)  I have quarantined the fish using fresh water, aquarium salt and Stress Coat.  What else can I do?

Mary,                                                        It sound like cornybacteriosis.... more commonly known as popeye... go get maracyn two and medicate him before his eyes pop out. Even if they do or one does they can acclimate to this. This is more of a cichlid , goldfish thing , but it happens to anyone.... Good Luck,Tina
