my betta has a swollan throat. it looks like a big hump around like his thyroyd glands are swollan, is he dyin? and is there a way i can cure him?

Zucchini,                                                    I am sooo sorry it sounds like your betta has dropsy. The first thing you need to do is Epsom salt baths 1 tablespoon. to 3 gallons of water. Soak him twice a day for 15 minutes at a time it will help him relieve him of the wastes that is causing this. It is almost always fatal, but not always. Treat your tank with Melafix.... it is an all natural and broad spectrum antibiotic. Change water after 7 days. You should also try to feed him a raw pea everyday for a week. Throw out the husk. After this is all over do that once a week to stop bacterial infections.Good Luck,Tina
