water conditioners

When doing water changes and conditioning the water the instructions are to add 1 tsp. per 10 gallons. If I am only removing 2-3 gallons do I still use 1 tsp. or should I adjust quantity.Is it possible to over condition water or am I being overly cautious. Thanks for your help again!

You're being overly cautious, but that is never a bad thing. 1tsp of conditioner is fine for up to 5 gallons. I frequently double the dose of StressCoat, especially when adding new fish to a tank or moving fish from one tank to another.
