Nitrate levels

Question
Does african cichlids from lake malawi supposed to be higher or lower than 25ppm? I have a 55 gallon tank with 8 cichlids in it.

Hi Ervin,
 To be honest, I never measure nitrite or nitrate levels.  The best approach (at least for me) is to do regular water changes.  Ideally, you should change 25% of the water once a week, every week to keep your fish happy and healthy.
