Beta/eggs?

Question
Hi, i have had my beta fish for about a year now, he is in a normal, not filtration tank and i change the water about every 2 weeks. Today when i got up to feed (2 pellets twice a day), he had tan bubbles surronded in gross brown liquid/goo in one area of his tank. This wasn't here yesterday and at first i thought he could have tried to lay eggs or something, but it didnt look anything like his normal bubble nest at the top of the tank...please let me know what this is, if its ok, and what to do with it ASAP...thanks!

Answer
Hi Ali,
If he is a male (which he must be if he makes a bubble nest) then he can't lay eggs.  You should be cleaning the tank a little more often.  I recommend changing 25% of the water once a week, every week.
