Water for Beta

Question
My son has a beautiful blue Beta and we want to make sure it is taken care of properly. We do not use a city water supply our water is well water and it is hard water, it does not cotain clorine or other additives and we do use a water softener system.  I was wondering if it is ok to use this water for the Beta right away or if I should wait a few hours before putting the Beta in this water?  Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks Trish

Answer
Hi Trish;

Your water should be perfectly fine for your betta. You might consider using a water conditioner anyway though. It offers other benefits besides chlorine removal. A good water conditioner will provide stress relief and bind heavy metals too. Be sure to leave the water out next to the betta for a few hours before using it. This makes the water the same temperature as what he is used to before using it.
