Blood red parrot behavior

Question
I have a 55 gal.bowfront with penguin bio-wheel 200 on one end of the tank and a topfin 20 0n the other. When I bought them, I didn't know their sex. They lay eggs all the time, I managed to save 2 babies but they look nothing like the parents. They look like regular common cichlids with the long body. This last time when they layed eggs ,they kept going to the bubblers and it looked like they were sucking bubbles and bringing them back to the eggs, they took turns. They have never done this before, is that normal??
How do we save the eggs so they will hatch?
Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Donna,
Keep in mind that blood parrot cichlids are manmade hybrids so in many cases the eggs are infertile and none of them hatch.  You should consider yourself lucky that some did.

As for the bubble retrieving behavior, I have heard of this before but never seen it myself.
