QuestionHi Ron,
My name is Autumn and I have an albino Oscar about 6 years old. He lives in a 75 gallon tank all by himself now. But, lately I have notice that he is getting holes on him. They are all different sizes. The hole start from his mouth and go to his side fins. A couple of them are really deep holes the one I can see clear to the inside. He also has a haze eye and his side fins are really torn up and has white things on them. What did I do? Thanks
AnswerHi Autumn,
You need to be doing much more water changes. You should be changing 25% of his water once a week, every week. That should be your regular plan. In the short term, you need to do a 25% water change today, then again tommorrow and then again the day after that. It is important to do water changes in stages like that, rather than doing a huge amount all at once.
The holes are called "hole in the head" and are the result of poor water conditions. If you do the regular water changes, over a long period of time, he may get better.
