bugs in tank

Question
We have some kind of bug in the tank.  They aren't hurting anything they are great in number and it looks bad.  They are fast, white and appear to be eating the algae. they have not touched the fish.  Today is the first that we have noticed them.

Hi Dianne,
 You need to be doing more water changes.  You should be changing about 25% of the water, once a week, every week.  If you do that religiously the "bugs" will go away.  To get things back on an even keel, consider doing 25% water changes several days in a row, over the next few days, then switch to the once a week plan.
