Problem with fish tank

Question
I have a 50 gallon fish tank and my son put a whole can of fish food in it.  I just cleaned the filters and the water is starting to clear up.  Two of my fish are dying.  They have been swimming upside down for three days.  I noticed that another of my fish has stuff coming out of his eye.  I dont know if I should take everything out of the fish tank.  I have a rather large shark and two plecasusmus.  My angel fish and red tail barb are dying.  thank you,

Answer
Oh Kellie, I am so sorry this has happened to you and your fish. What a nightmare.

Make a 25% water change and vacuum the gravel every day for the next week to get the food and toxins out of there without shocking the fish further. Don't try to feed the fish any regular food for a few days. If they have overeaten they need to clear their gut of undigested food and gas. If they start to look hungry in a couple of days, feed only cooked squished green peas to help get the excess junk out of their digestive systems. Epsom salts help with constipation and pressure too. Add a dose of 1/2 teaspoon for every ten gallons. Add more for the fresh water after every water change until they are better. For instance, you will be replacing about 10 gallons (about 20% to 25%) so you will add 1/2 teaspoon after every water change for a few days.

I do hope they get better soon........
