How do you tell whether a red tiger oscar is a male or a female?

 That's the fun part .. you can't.  Male and female oscars look exactly alike.  Or more correctly, different oscars look different the but the differences are not related to which sex the oscar is.  People will tell you that they can tell the sex of an oscar: they have a 50% chance of being right.
