QuestionHi. I have a 29 gallon aquarium with 4 goldfish and 1 pleco. The goldfish are actually feeder goldfish that I've "pardoned" from being fed to my husband's oscars (which we no longer have). The tank has been set up for about 1 year, I don't know the pH, ammonia , or nitrite levels. What I'm really looking for is the best way to move my fish and not lose any of them. We will be moving soon, it's about 1 hr and 45 minute drive from here, and I really don't want to get rid of these fish. They are also kind of large as far as pet goldfish go, the smallest is about 4 1/2 inches in length, so that may be another issue in the whole moving process. Any information you can give me would be great, I'm kind of attached to these fish and would like to take them with me.
Thanks,
Allison Ramsey
AnswerHi Allison;
Fish really aren't that hard to move. Especially for the fairly short distance you are going. I've moved some pretty big fish (two 20 inch Pacu) about the same distance. Here is a link to a page that tells you in detail what to do;
