Question
Hey, thanks for the reply. Also, now that the new one has been in the tank for awhile hes hiding up in the top corner.. do you think he'll be ok? Is he just to scared to go down cause the rest of the fish are picking on him?

-----Question-----
I have a tank with 6 cichlids which all get along just fine. I just got another to add to it.. its a hot pink/red spotted cichlid and as soon as I put it in the tank with the rest of the fish, they started shaking their whole bodies right beside the new one, the biggest one was especially doing this over and over... why are they doing this!? Please respond to me as soon as possible. Thanks!
-----Answer-----
Hi Ryan,
It sounds like you got a jewel cichlid.  The shaking is one way that cichlids communicate with each other. Basically, they are trying to sort out who is who.

Answer
Hi Ryan,
It's hard to say.  Give it a little time but keep an eye on things.  Also be sure that the tank has lots of structure (wood, rock, plants) to create hiding spaces for those fish that need a break.
