Question
hi ron i have a blue dempsey and it is so hard to find out info on him could you point me to a blue web site or something thankyou very much

Answer
Hi Chad,
The reason that it is hard to find info on the blue dempsey is because it was only "developed" recently.  Basically, it appears that the blue coloration is the result of a recessive lethal gene that appeared in certain lineage of tank-bred dempseys (i.e., they do not occur in the wild).  In general, if you breed two blue dempseys to each other, the kids don't survive because the offspring carry two copies of the lethal gene.  That is why they are rare and expensive.  They also tend not to be all that healthy overall.  I don't know of any sites that specifically talk about Blue Dempseys.  Sorry.
