Convict Parents

My mated pair of convicts just laid a new batch of eggs, they hatched about 2 weeks ago. Today, I noticed that all my other fish were not too happy being stuck in a 10 gallon space. So, I seperated the parents and the fry into their own tank. Now the female is beating the crap out of male that she spawned with. Is rhis going to continue? If so, why?

Hi Josh,
 That does happen sometimes and we are not 100% sure. In fact, that is a big part of what I do research on in my lab, namely how biparental parents get along (or don't).  In the meantime, you probably should remove the fish that is being attacked.
