QuestionQUESTION: Dear Ron
Thanks for reply last time regarding the Red Devil fry, now I have another question that i have a pair of gold severum, 2 months before this pair laid eggs but unfortunately the eggs disappeared may be bcz of community tank, then i separated this pair into separate tank, for the last I was looking that the pair started digging the gravel and some signal of breeding, 2 days before I saw the eggs on the bottom of tank but very 2nd day the eggs disappeared, what will be the reason, did they eat their eggs?
Thanks
Riz
ANSWER: Hi Riz,
It is very possible that they ate the eggs. This could be because the eggs were not ferilized correctly. It is also entirely possible that you have two females -- two females will often spawn but of course the eggs will not be fertilized and so they will not develop.

QUESTION: Dear Ron
May be they ate the eggs. but the other option that you told that both are female is not. bcz they behave like male & female, e.g Jaws locking, dancing in opposite direction.
Would it be possible that they put these eggs to another location bcz the male is spending his most of the time at another location of the tank.
Thanks
Riz
AnswerHi Riz,
The dancing and jaw-locking would not rule out you having two females.
Yes, it is possible that the eggs hatched and the parents have moved the wrigglers to another spot. They might do this many times.
