Babie convicts

QUESTION: I am new to this, and my convicts have just had babies. We have other fish in the tank, 1 gold fish 1 angel fish, 1 shark and a number of other small fish. Is there any advice you can give me please.

ANSWER: Hi David,
   You should get some frozen baby brine shrimp.  The kids do not need food until they are free swimming -- prior to that they feed off their yolk sac.  After that, give them some frozen baby brine shrimp for a couple of weeks, and then switch over to crushed flake food as they get larger.

QUESTION: Thanks Ron the babies are already free swimming and even though I'm feeding them brine there parents are also regurgitating food flake for them should i stop with the brine or continue with that as well

Hi David,
  The brine shrimp certainly won't harm them ... it just gets expensive after awhile, so I generally stop with the brine shrimp once they are eating flake food.
