My new betta wont eat.

I just my betta fish a couple of days ago. Ive never had a betta before and I purchased all the supplies that the pet store recommended.  Ive tried feeding him flakes and pellets and he doesnt seem to be eating anything.  He will go to the top of the bowl, like he is going to get some food, not pick up anything and then blow a couple bubbles out of his mouth.  Is there something that I havent done or need to do?

Give him time to adjust.  He may be eating it off the bottom after you leave.  Give him another day or 2 and if you don't see any improvement, get back to me and we can work on it from there.  Bettas sometimes are picky and take a little longer to adjust then other fish.
