Bronze Cory

Question
Hi,
I have a single bronze cory in a freshwater tank with a mystery snail and a platy. I know I'm supposed to have more than one, but the panda fish died a while ago and today the cory started swimming crazily up and down the sides of the tank, and doesn't seem to notice when I feed it. Is he just lonely, or is there something actually wrong with him? Is there anything I need to do? I have a very small tank that can't handle very many fish.

Answer
It is hard to say if it is a "lack of cover" or a water issue.  Best way to find out is to have your water tested for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates.  Add a few more places for your cory to hide, clay plant pots work well (not used ones).  I have a single Yo-Yo loach and he seems to do fine on his own.
