Question
I have a few juvenile green terror cichlids. I've raised them since they've been fry. I've been trying to find homes for them to avoid the situation i'm in, the younger one i just found out is a female, cuz she hatched some wrigglers a few days ago. The obvious problem is the male juvenile who is a few months older than her, is her brother. My question is are these fry going to be normal? Or will they possibly be deformed or have disease? Do you know what i should expect? I tried to ask another expert on this site, but had no luck. Even if this is beyond your expertise could you give an oppinion on this matter. Thanks so much sincerely, tasha

Answer
Tasha,

Breeding brother and sister will eventually produce fry that either will not live, be deformed, or not grow. This is of course if brother and sister continue to breed. You can leave them be for now and see how the fry are. If you want to continue to breed them, remove the sibling males or females and add different fish. If you do not want to have any more fry, I would do the same and just keep either the males or females. I hope this has helped you.
